The Process

Daily Procedure:

Before the end of each class period, your group must complete a Group Daily Reflection Sheet, sign it, and return it to me before leaving the class to receive credit for your group participation.  You may determine who is responsible for handing in the Daily Reflection Sheet. Also, properly cite borrowed words, photographs, pictures, etc.

Ø  First, each member of the group will read an overview of World War II.

Ø  Second, each member will become an expert on the topic that he/she selects and will record answers to the questions listed on the appropriate graphic organizers.

Ø  Third, persons who have the same topic will form a secondary group to collect information pertaining to their topic.  However, each person is responsible for doing his/her own work. Turn work in for review by me.

Ø  Fourth, members of the original group will come together, discuss their findings, and formulate their group’s position statement and begin writing the position paper. Turn in rough draft to me for review.

Ø  Sixth, check your group’s position paper against the rubric and make necessary corrections.

Ø  Seventh, complete the group presentation sheet by listing your group’s presentation mode (skit, power point presentation, or newscast), roles each member will play, and the date your group will conduct the oral presentation.

Ø  Eighth, prepare the necessary prompts for your oral presentation.

Ø  Ninth, practice your group’s performance.

Ø  Tenth, turn in to me the final copy of the position paper on the day of your group’s presentation.
